Membership for Health Care Providers:
How to become an OBAA member
Welcome to the OBAA! We are delighted that you are interested in membership with our association. (If you are an Acupuncturist or Dr. TCM, please see the Acupuncture Membership tab)
Joining the OBAA is simple! Registered Health Care Professionals (HCP) having completed coursework in midwifery or obstetric acupuncture may apply for membership.

Once your application is received, you will be contacted by the Membership Director and asked to provide the following:
HCP registration number or if in a non-regulated area, please provide a diploma from an accredited school or your active practice insurance.
Copy of midwifery or obstetric acupuncture coursework certification
Practice insurance
Application Fee of $35.00 CAD ( non-refundable)

The membership director will send you the HCP OBAA exam. The exam is open book and will need to be completed before membership is granted.
Once you are an HCP member, you will be listed on the website.

CEU/CPD courses
The OBAA is committed to continual education in the field of obstetrical acupuncture and related topics.
40 CEU/CPD credits are required to apply for senior membership with OBAA. (A minimum of 20 CEU’s must be in Acupuncture and TCM.)
10 CEU/CPD credits are required every two years for both general and senior membership renewal.
Course work includes educational content in Obstetrical Medicine or Midwifery, either western or eastern. The courses may be live, distance learning or online.
Senior membership and membership renewal applications will require copies of certificates of completion of relevant continuing education.
