Membership for Acupuncturists:
How to become an OBAA member
Welcome to the OBAA! We are delighted that you are interested in membership with our association.
Note: if you are a GP, Midwife or Physiotherapist looking to join the OBAA, please see the Healthcare provider membership tab
Joining the OBAA is simple! Registered acupuncturists (and students) having completed 14 CEU’s in obstetrical coursework may apply for membership.

Once your application is received, you will be contacted by the Membership Director and asked to provide the following:
Registration number or if in a non-regulated area, please provide a diploma from an accredited school or your active practice insurance.
Copies of certificates of completion for 14 CEU’s
Application Fee of $35.00 CAD (non-refundable)

The membership director will send you the OBAA exam. The exam is open book and will need to be completed before membership is granted.
Once you are a general member, you may apply to become a senior member. Senior members are highlighted on the website and have opportunities to act as mentors to new and HCP members.

CEU courses
The OBAA is committed to continual education in the field of obstetrical acupuncture and related topics.
40 CEU credits are required to apply for senior membership with OBAA. (A minimum of 20 CEU’s must be in Acupuncture and TCM.)
10 CEU credits are required every two years for both general and senior membership renewal.
Course work includes educational content in Obstetrical Medicine, either western or eastern. The courses may be live, distance learning or online.
Senior membership and membership renewal applications will require copies of certificates of completion of relevant continuing education
